UCTE continues to fight for firefighter services at Wabush Airport despite Transport Canada refusing to respond to either the public or UCTE and ending airport firefighting as of next week. Small communities and industries such as Wabush, Labrador City and Fermont deserve to have the same level of safety as other communities with airports. They do not deserve second-class treatment.  We continue to work with the Labrador West District Labour Council to restore services that ensures the safety of the travelling public in our Northern communities.
