Not on our members backs!

Swissport Fuellers at the Vancouver Airport have been struggling to get a deal since October 2021.

After living through several layoffs due to Covid, the employer wants to undermine the health benefits of the remaining employees while offering them a minimal wage increase.

“The union recognizes that the aviation industry has been hit hard as a result of the pandemic however, SwissPort can’t try to rebuild their profits on the back of our members,” said Barry Tchir, RVP Pacific. “We need to a deal that is fair to all of the members who have stayed with this company through this rough patch.”

The union and the employer are to meet again in early February to hopefully come to an agreement. Members are asked to visit the website www.ucte-ucet.ca for up to date information regarding the negotiations.
