NAV CANADA – PSAC’s first virtual National Bargaining Conference

On September 29 and 30th PSAC hosted its first national bargaining conference for Nav Canada members. Delegates debated resolutions and elected their negotiating team delegates all online.

Thanks to COVID-19 PSAC and UCTE had to reimagine how to host a national bargaining conference. “Regardless of the pandemic impact on Nav Canada, the collective agreement is going to expire soon and we need to be ready to negotiate a new one,” said Barry Tchir, RVP Pacific. ”Doing a national bargaining conference virtually may not have been ideal but it went well overall.”

The elected negotiating team members are Suzanne Dupuis, Michelle Webster, Sadik Ahmad, and Marc Langlois. Barry Tchir, RVP is the National Executive member assigned to the team along with PSAC REVP, NCR Alex Silas and PSAC negotiator Brother Seth Sazant. Elected alternates were Annick Ladouceur, Michelle Timmerman and Joanne Marion.

The bargaining team will be negotiating at a time when there have been significant layoffs at Nav Canada. We wish you well and know that you will do a great job in the interest of your members.
