Firefighters at YWG Airport ratified a new collective agreement

Congratulations to our firefighters’ members at Winnipeg airport (YWG)! On September 29, 2022, they successfully ratified a new collective agreement.

The new contract expires on December 21, 2024, and contains economic increase, domestic violence leaves changes, health spending account increase, vacation leave increase and safety footwear increase.

The bargaining team would like to thank all the members for their tremendous support and solidarity during this round of bargaining.

‘’It’s great that we were able to achieve these improvements for these members, especially after our experience at the table last time. This round the employer came with a different attitude, which allowed us to make these gains. Congratulations, and thank you to the team and our negotiator Tom Milne.’’ Says Mike Tennant, Regional Vice President Prairies and the North

We are looking forward to achieving similar gains for all our airport firefighter members across the country. Airport firefighters are specialized skilled professionals and deserve a fair collective agreement.
