As a union, we’re committed to fairness in the workplace and beyond. For us, fairness means equality of opportunity – it means that all Canadians should be able to access higher education, regardless of their financial situation.
It’s for these reasons that the Union of Canadian Transportation Employees is so proud to offer two $2,500 scholarships each year: one based on academic achievement and another based solely on financial need. It’s our hope that these scholarships can help make a meaningful difference in a student’s future.
The scholarship is open to the following students who are finishing high school and entering their first year of university, college or another institute of higher learning on a full-time basis:
- Children and grandchildren as well as dependent children and grandchildren of UCTE members in good standing, retired members and deceased members.
- Children and dependent children of UCTE national office staff.
UCTE is now accepting applications for these scholarships. Packages are currently on their way to our local presidents for distribution. You can also download the complete package here.
Scholarship applications are due by August 20, 2019.
