This week, UCTE local presidents from every Nav Canada local as well as the UCTE National Executive and Nav Canada management met with the federal mediation services.

After a strained round of bargaining and with changes in leadership at both Nav Canada and UCTE, both parties agreed to spend time to improve relations between the two groups.

One of the positive outcomes of this meeting is the establishment of regional union-management meetings at with our locals will have a direct say on their worksite. Likewise, there will now be a specific UCTE-Nav Canada national level UMC with the goal of working specifically on issues including health and safety as well as those raised from the regions and to ensure the same applicability across Canada.

UCTE anticipates continued improvements in the relationship between its members and Nav Canada.
