2022 Canadian Firefighters Memorial Ceremony

This year, the first time since the pandemic, UCTE participated in the Canadian Fallen Firefighters Foundation (CFFF) Memorial Services. According to their website, the CFFF “was created to HONOUR and REMEMBER firefighters who have been killed in the line of duty and to SUPPORT their families. Yesterday, Leah Kosolofski, a UCTE firefighter from Winnipeg Airport, represented UCTE in Ottawa for this somber remembrance.

‘’What an absolute honour and privilege it was to represent at the memorial service.  Very humbling experience. Thank you UTCE for this honour.’’ she declared.

By way of history, a resolution was passed at UCTE’s 2011 Convention that each year UCTE will send an airport firefighter representative to participate in the memorial service. Firefighters’ National Memorial Day recognizes firefighters around Canada for their sacrifice, dedication, and bravery.
