UPDATE December 6: Tentative agreement reached: congratulations to the bargaining team!

Workers at Ottawa International Airport, UCTE Local 70701, voted Wednesday strongly in favour of a strike mandate. This definitive show of support for their negotiating team is a response to the Ottawa International Airport Authority refusing to present a reasonable offer to its workers.

“Our members at the Ottawa Airport perform various roles to support travelers and airlines. Without their work, our national capital’s airport could not operate smoothly and without disruptions,” says Richard Thibert, Regional Vice-President for the NCR.”

Among other issues, members are fighting against proposed clawbacks to their health benefits. Our demands include wage increases that match the increase in cost of living.
