December 6 is the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women. Today we remember those who have experienced gender-based violence (GBV). It is also a time to reflect and act. We can end GBV, but we must educate ourselves, centre the voices of survivors, and take action in our communities.
On December 6, 1989, 14 young women at Polytechnique Montréal lost their lives to an act of violent misogyny.
